Self Esteem
Self-esteem is a reflection of how we feel about ourselves. Our level of self-esteem can have a tremendous impact on how we think, what we say and what we do on a day to day basis. It has an effect on how we see the world and our particular place in it. Our self-esteem also impacts the choices we make, personally and professionally, and it also affects how much we’re able to give to others as well as receive. Although we all doubt our abilities at one point or another, when we have difficulty accepting ourselves as we are we can develop unhealthy levels of self-esteem which can be destructive and impact all aspects of life.
Low self-esteem is often a result of negative thought patterns and continuous self-comparison. Some of the messages that you might tell yourself could be: “I never do anything right”, or “No one would ever like me”. We are often unaware of these thoughts and don’t realize how much of an impact they have.

Counselling offers a forum for you to set short and long-term goals as well as the opportunity to develop personal talents. With increased self-esteem you will be able to develop and maintain healthier relationships which can have the effect of increased success in both personal and professional life.
